It's estimated, based on US Forest Management and combined CalFire data, that around 47% of the land that burned in California in 2018 was federal land. People who are currently displaced by the fires are relying on FEMA aid right now for living quarters. FEMA is also working on hazardous waste cleanup—critically important in those impacted areas.
